      Anchors with WILDs

I realised that when i try to WILD using normal techniques they just keep me awake as im too focused and i can't stop this. However i read billybobs post again about anchors so i though i would try it. I tried putting a sheet over me head, biting the sheet and using dull pain as an anchor. I focused each time on the anchor and then began to go to sleep normally, but once i have gone into sleep mode i never thought about the anchor again and just fell asleep, does anyone have any tips to focus on the anchor and going to sleep cos i dont see how this is possible? I think if i manage to focus on the anchor again that will just interupt going to sleep..? thanks

You don't focus. You passively notice it. I got extremely furthur using anchors than anything else. Try sleeping with the TV on. You'll hear it, but not focus on it.

i used to sleep with the tv on all the time, but never went anywhere near WILDin, so what difference is there between when i used to fall asleep with the tv on and what i should do now?

Now all you have to do is stay concious like a classic WILD, and let the TV keep you up. Make sure what you're watching is hard to ignore.

Suddenly I know what the WILD-state of mind/passive observing is.
I recognise the state you describe from falling asleep with a TV on or in a car/room full of talking people.

I would feel myself drifting away, deeper and deeper into myself and farther away from my body, but I would still hear the voices of the people or TV. This is a very perculiar state indeed.

Never realised that THIS is the state people WILD with. I remember falling asleep and it happening to me. Usually when I was too tired to even keep my eyes open. But I wouldn't know how to consciously induce such a state.

Guess I'll try sleeping with the TV. Low volume, lower than I would have it when watching TV I guess? Well I'll give it a try tonight.

Yes, and there is a definite change in feel as you get closer to SP and into the WILD.
It like watching tv commercials and it changes back to the Movie. That sort of feeling, the look and sound changes.
Also if you are sorta staring at blackness the black color sorta turns deep grey instead and it widens in scope.
I often can hear my brain neurons click or zap as the changeover happens.
      May just be me.

Use a small blinking light as an anchor....just an idea.
