Hey everybody, I want to run a little test here to see what side of the brain is more dominant in frequent lucid dreamers here. So I've set up a quiz that can help determine this.
The outcome of this experiment is to find out which side of the brain may make frequent lucid dreamers lucid, and then see if people strengthen that side of their brain will help achieve lucid dreams, and more frequently.
I looked through a few sites for good left brain/right brain tests, and the one I chose seems to be accurate.
If you wish to participate take the quiz and post in this format:
Lucid dreams a month average:
Left Brain Dominance:
Right Brain Dominance:
It does not matter if you have few lucid dreams a month, that may also show which side of the brain needs to be strengthened for the task.
dang it! no wonder my sister dosent have to try as hard as me!!! she hates lucid dreaming because I talk about it all the time, but 4 nights ago, she tried to WILD, like I told her, and it worked in like 10 mins for her because it was like midnight, and she has unexpected DILDS all the time, and she is left handed...
I personally thought that was a really stupid test... it was much too subjective, unless the purpose was that it is based on your conceptions of yourself. If that's the case it was excellent. I mean, how many people are going to say that they are musically inclined? Just watch American Idol and you'll get a good idea. Lots of people like to believe that they are good judges of character, or that they wait to hear both sides to a story, but I think for the most part that's not the case... Is there a more accurate one?
I took a couple of other tests and here are my results:
Spoiler for results:
Spoiler for http://www.web-us.com/BRAIN/braindominance.htm:
You responded as a right brained person to 14 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 4questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use your right brain the most. The summary briefly describes your dominance type. Remember, this only represents half of the picture. After you read the description, click on the link at the bottom of the page to find out how to use this information to improve your study strategies. Do not forget to print your results, if your instructor has requested you to do so.
Some of the traits associated with the right side of the brain are listed in the table. Not all of the traits will apply to you. Remember, we use both side of our brain, but your right sides gets the most exercise.
Type of Cognitive Processing
Brief Description
Holisitc Processing information from whole to part; sees the big picture first, not the details.
Random Processing information with out priority, jumps form one task to another.
Concrete Processes things that can be seen , or touched - real objects.
Intuitive Processes information based on whether or not it feels right know answer but not sure how it was derived.
Nonverbal Processes thought as illustrations.
Fantasy-Oriented Processes information with creativity; less focus on rules and regulations
- Right:Left - 14:4 questions
Spoiler for http://www.ipn.at/ipn.asp?BHX:
Left to Right dominant, 11:10
Left:Right - 11:10
Spoiler for http://frank.mtsu.edu/~studskl/hd/learn.html:
You responded as a right brained person to 10 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 9 questions. You seemed to be comfortable using strategies for both sides for the brain. Your preference may be situational and apparent mainly when stress in a factor.
Right:Left - 10:9 - I agree with this one the most, particularly the "Your preference may be situational and apparent mainly when stress in a factor."
From reading http://frank.mtsu.edu/~studskl/hd/learn.html I would agree mostly that I am right-brain oriented, but that when it comes to logic or reality based... I use intuition and I understand rules and follow them. I definitely draw everything, have those little mental videos, like to work from the big picture down to the small details, I usually kick ass at spelling, I tend to point, can't flat out memorize things, etc.
You should also ask if people are naturals or not. Because getting 50 LDs a month naturally or from hard work and having learned to WILD probably makes a difference, or at least is something you ought to consider.
