    
For those of you LDers who wish to fly.. and have had difficulty doing so; I'd like to share some techniques. Flying has always been one of my fav things to do while in a LD; In fact, it's often how I know I'm really in one. I used to flap my arms (like a bird) to become airborne.. and I started to ponder.. What is it about my arms that sends me up?.. And I realized that it was the energy that it was creating. It put energy between me and the ground.. much like the physical air disturbance around a bird, when it flaps it's wings.. Or the energy of a rocketship blasting off. Then, I began to create this energy with my mind.
I would focus on my feet and the ground.. and then focus on the space between my feet and the ground, creating a powerful energy that would grow larger, pushing me up and separating me from the ground. Sometimes, I would even put out my arms, but instead of flapping them.. I would hold them out at about a 60 degree angle, and create the same energy beneath my hands that was beneath my feet. This would push me up at an even faster rate. Of course, now that I've practiced so much.. all I have to do is think: "I want to fly".. and away I go. Ultimately, I think it still works with the same basic concept, only now it's instantaneous. Like walking, driving or typing. I don't have to think about where the letters are anymore, I just think it, and my fingers tap out my thoughts.
