      WILD and DEILD question

Aren't they the same thing except one you move around after you wake up, and the other is as soon as you wake up stay still and go back into a dream? I mean if you fail at DEILD'ing then just try to WILD, if you accidentally wake up to much to DIELD then just WILD. Am I right?

If you keep your eyes closed, and just came out of a dream, it's a DEILD. You don't have to be a statue for it to be a DEILD, the main thing is that you came out of a dream, become conscious, and go into another dream (be it the same environment or something completely different).

WILD is different, you try to go into the dream state directly without being aware of a previous dream or exiting a dream from before, hence you're going into that state from the waking state.

DEILD is easier because you just came out of a dream, and you can transition into the dream state with ease.

WILDing is more difficult because you're trying to go back to sleep when you woke up (eyes opened, etc.), while retaining consciousness.

If you open your eyes, and move around, like for a WBTB, then it's a WILD, if not, it's a DEILD.

Either way, DEILD is a variant of WILD, so I guess you could say it's the same thing.

You can try and WILD without prior sleep, but that is hard to do most of the time, but it is possible.
