      Angry I cant WILD!

After a while of trying i keep feeling like i may have a WILD, but then i don't. Like, i lay there for a while, and i don't move at all, well except for the occasional swallow i cant help. Anyways after a bit i think i hear something, or a feel the smallest prickle in my legs and thats all. I don't feel SP, i never see ANY hallucination's, and then i just fall asleep because I'm not getting anywhere!

      HELP! Anyone?

What time do you try it and what technique do you use?

I would suggest sleeping on your back only, elevate your legs 30degrees, increase temperature in room to 60-70 Fahrenheit (15-25 Celsius), avoid using a pillow, and consider aspic oil as a numbing medium if sensory is excessive.
White noise generators may help as an alternative use earplugs in case high frequency sounds in the environment (which you might not notice) are inhibiting the process. Attempt to stare 'through' your closed eyelids, and concentrate on maintaining continuity of awareness.

      best advice I can offer.

This is an important point, I agree. As an analogy, consider this: When people read, their mind sometimes wanders off of topic. At this point, people tend to remember little of the text just read.

That feeling you have when you are attending to text with full attention is what you need to maintain when WILDing. Indeed, you may need to visualise things to facilitate the induction, but do this consciously; do not let the subconscious take control--also, imagine as if you're projecting them onto your eyelids, and not the mind's eye. If you're successful, then the images shall become very real, and this is when you observe and let go. You'll feel the transition from here.

Just to add to that. If you want to feel SP fairly quickly make sure you relax your eyes. Try to get them to the point that they dont move, period. It will seem hard at first, your eyes will automatically flutter around after 30 seconds of trying to hold them but just keep trying. If you can hold them still (through relaxation not force) your body will take it as a sign that your mind is asleep and begin to shut down. You should be getting the feeling to "roll over" very soon. When you get this ignore it and pretend it doesnt exist, its your body testing you to see if your still awake. If you ignore it you WILL go through SP. Another tip for completing SP if its only partially done is to "twitch" the parts of your body you want to fall asleep. Do this only if you are already in trance and the twitch should be VERY SMALL and very subtle. Too big of a twitch and you will wake up your body. Twitch that certain part of your body once every 10 seconds for 60 seconds, if it doesnt go through SP it means your not relaxed enough/deep enough in trance.

      Hmm.

Try this: Look into the distant area and focus on something. Keep that focus. Now closely bring a book into your field of vision but negate any urge to bring it into focus. Observe the object as much as you wish. This is, effectively, what you want to achieve with your eyes closed. If you can keep that focus, then close your eyes and you'll see depth in the darkness that you may have not seen before. The book, in this case, would be your eyelids.

Once you have mastered this, then try to project yourself through the darkness. If done correctly, it'll be like observing one of those retro star screen savers. It'll require conscious effort initially to maintain the 'forward motion', but if you relax and let it flow then it shall continue with little or no effort. If you begin the visualisations now, and try to remain aware and relaxably concentrated for enough time, then you'll feel the shift in mind state begin.

Yes Exactly that. With enough concentration you can "see through" your closed eyelids.

WILDing is difficult, so I understand your trouble. I myself have only been able to achieve it on occassion, and half of the time by accident. For me, the technique of lying completely still, waiting for my body to fall asleep while keeping my mind awake has never worked. My best WILDs were when I was already in a dream, then partially woke up and found myself still in sleep paralysis. Then I simply threw myself back into the dream. If at all possible, if you want to practice the WILD, wait until you achieve a DILD, then if you can force an awakening, you may possibly find yourself in sleep paralysis when you wake up. Try to keep this feeling, then "latch on" to the dream again with your mind and try to "push" yourself back into it. Remember though, that everyone has different sleep patterns and ways of dreaming, so it may differ for you
