It seems I can never find a restful state of mind when I lay down for bed. Life is just so stressing, so distracting, so tiring. I want so badly to escape to my dreams for my sleep, but I never get lucid and can't even remember them lately. I'm having a rough time to say the least, not only in dreaming, but in life. Any suggestions? |

Don't let them get your dreams. Your stress eats at you enough during the day. At night, set aside 15-30 minutes before bed to meditate. You don't need to do any spectacular method. Just relax, and let your stress melt off until tomorrow. |

But how do I just stop my thoughts? Stop thinking through everything? It seems like meditation will only leave me more time to think and get lost in the thought that I'd rather not be in. |

Find something that calms you down, and use it as your center. |

Neither Will alone, nor Strength alone.
to add to what ladoys said, i would suggest breath awareness meditation. what breath awareness is, is you focusing on your breathing. don't try to control it, just pay attention to it, and everytime your thoughts drift away, return your focus on your breath. this is way harder than it seems, and the more you do it the easier it becomes. this is very beneficial to me, and has helped me a great deal. essentially your breath is an anchor that you always return to, and eventually you'll focus on nothing but your breath. this works while your walking, or waiting at a bus stop, on the train, etc. basically anyway you want to do it, and however it suits you, that's why i love this technique so much. the point of this by the way, is for you to become aware of the moment, and not worry about the past or future. |

I'd go with the meditation part. As a matter of fact, I just started doing yoga nidra- which is extremely easy & relaxing. |

I use audio hypnosis to relax at the end of the day. It's amazing!! Just go on Limewire and search '10 Minute Deep Relaxation' |
