      WILDing with NO WBTB

The goal of this thread is a I help you, you help me kinda gig. No one likes reading threads that start out " I need help!!!!*whines*". So here I stumbbled upon this last night for the first time and maybe you all have tried it but at least its new to me. So here we go.

Last night I was able to stay concious from a waking state through SP without any kind of WBTB, in fact I had what could be called a very brief WILD. I'll tell you how all this went down, hopefully you can all give it a try and we can all learn from this (hey thats forums are for !!!!!)

Basically I went through 2 stages of vibrations and SP and was having incredibly vivid Hypnagognic imagery. Not just bits and pieces of images or scenes but fully viewable enviroments with me in them. Just like little mini dreams, the longest ones lasting about 20 seconds or so. And there were tons of these. at least 3 dozen of them.

After watching these for a time I became unaware of my waking body in bed and was really only aware of the scenes I saw. So I decieded to try and WILD from this point. I focused of the scenes and tried to interact with them but I found that once I focused and forced myself into the scene more I got that stange feeling of double body. Being aware of both your dream body and your waking body at the same time. I thought at the time this was a good thing so I continued pushing myself into the dream. But as I did so the scenes no longer were of different places and events but rather came down to me, I got the feeling I was trying to FILD. ( if you know what I mean its a very specific feeling and very difficult to describe.

I got to a point in which I was still aware of both my bodies but was able to focus on my Dream Body and move its hand to perform a nose RC. But of course this movement was to quick and the RC told me I was awake....

THere are two things that I think played a important role in reaching this point.
      1) I brushed my teeth and all that an hour before going to bed, so that the physical activity from doing so would not further wake my body.
2)With my body more asleep then my mind I was able to keep my mind active through SP. I wasn't focusing on LDing but rather just on keeping my mind going. A few times yelling to myself in my head. (AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!) sounds silly I know...

I think the point of failure here was trying to focus and control the Hypnogogic images and scenes. And it might do better to let myself being passively "lifted" into the dream.

So really the question is how can we turn this into a WILD without it falling apart?

If anyone has had a similar experience, wants to know more about how this happened, has advise or ANYTHING at all they would like to share please do!!!!

Yes the internal mind movement is a great one.
I use the Rocky training scene and music in my head when WILDing.
The one with the main Rocky theme and do the punching and running up the long set of stairs (and even drink the raw egg drink too). All in my mind ofc.
Try it if you remember Rocky the original. Otherwise use another action and loud sequence from a movie you know.
Remember to not move your physical body though.

I have been close as well, but no images. Basically for me I go into be and lay on my side (I hate sleeping on my back passionatly, I have always have a fear of being choked and I focus on that and fail). I start counting "1.. I'm dreaming 2... I'm dreaming"... etc. Depending on how relaxed I am I usually start looseing my focus as early as 20 "I'm dreamings" (I count slowly.. it usually syncs with my breathing, unintentional but it just happens so I roll with it) i.e. I start to think of random stuff and it stops the counting, long enough to say, "hey get back to counting, remember why your counting" and I keep counting.. by 50 or 60 I start nodding off, no SP or numbness or vibrations or images, I'll get this massive feeling like I'm rolling back, (head falling back, I can't really notice the sensation in the rest of my body) but just when I get the feeling I "snap back" so to speak.. this can happen like 5 or 6 times but its frustrating..

I don't know how to maintain the feeling of "rolling back" without fully catching myself, and waking up a ton, usually resulting in more counting..

Another thing to note is when I get to this area (like 50 or 60 count) If I roll my eyes back in my head farther the falling feeling comes on really strong...

I can't really understand whats happening and I havent noticed any other people who have posted similar stuff

i can get to the feeling part almost on command, i just lay down and try to relax and i slow my heart as much as i can by breathing slowly, then i try to get a very vivid mental image of me doing something which involves adding a lot of feeling to my vision (such as touching objects or doing physical activities so i can feel the burn of my muscles) it usually takes me about 3-5 minutes to get the initial feeling of SP beginning but i cant get much farther than that for some reason. odd sensations of almost the same feelings of the beginning of SP during the day too for some reason, not sure if anyone else has the same thing

10000 days- i have been getting that sensation since i was a little kid living in new jersey. i thought it kinda felt like some kind of rollercoaster so i let it happen. i felt that sensation and then it would kinda put me to sleep... but the key to using that to your advantage in WILDing is to not even notice it. try not even thinking about it after it hits you. still focus on counting your breaths. then after you get to the next metered number (like 150 or 100 or whatever is close thats all even an stuff), start thinking about visualizations to get yourself into the dream state. the transitional phase takes longer when you are WILDing without WBTB.... i hope i could help

The WILD I had attempted last night was possibly the closest I have ever gotten. I to am trying to do WILDs without WBTB. also some good points from punkstar.
What happens with me: First of all I will relax about an hour before going to bed such as read something for a while, and to avoid any extraneous activities like brushing my teeth (I find that really kills a relaxed state). After that, I will lie in bed and take a while to find the most comfortable position, once I do I stop moving everything and begin counting my breaths ( Inhale - "1", Exhale - "2", repeat) I'll get to the point where I start seeing imagery and feeling tingling and it is usually about 2 or 3 "waves" of that feeling before it becomes intense.
What I notice at this stage is that anything I hear gets warped and twisted into different things... Like my fan above my head would start to sound like someone is whispering in my ear, then it would change to a constant buzzing sound... etc.. Its not uncommon for me to hear voices and see very descriptive scenes at this point.
And finally the most recent stage I've encountered is after the aforementioned, My senses begin to fade out all together, but it only seems to do it when I concentrate solely on the numbers that I'm counting, nothing else, not even whats going on in front of my eyes. I try to look "beyond" the imagery and sort of stare into space.

Hope that helps, or at least gives insight. Also, some very good points from punkstar.

i wear earplugs and a sleep mask if im trying to WILD when other people are awake or if it isnt really really dark. lol. sensory deprevation (where you dont sense anything from RL) helps you drift off into the dream state and forget about your body laying in bed.
when i first started to gain lucidity, i would make the mistake of thinking about my body laying down in bed. then i'd get this weird unexplainable double body feeling. eventually i felt the sheets and pillows and i knew nothing of the dream world anymore. ...
