help with WILD
Im confused on whether or not i can do a WILD when i go to bed at night or if the whole 5-6 hours of sleep before you do it is nesescary. In all of the tutorials it says you should have 5-6 hours before you do this. Why is this? And why cant you just do it right when you fall asleep?
It would be awsome if somone responded soon because im about to go to bed and i want to be able to try it again tonight haha :D

The reason why in most cases the 5 hours are necessary is because when you fall asleep your body does not immediately enter REM sleep (rapid eye movement) REM sleep is the state where you dream. but before you can enter rem you need regular sleep so the point of the 5 hours is to make it so you wake up when your body is entering REM so you can become lucid and you also will notice they say not to wake up too much or it will throw your body out of REM.

It varies person to person, but that is the generic time.
I for example wake after 4 hours.
Try setting your alarm or cell or watch after say 4am, for intervals of 30 mins, and each time you wake think "did I have a dream yet?".
When you answer yes, you will get to know the time you start dreaming.

the best time to use WILD is during naps in the afternoon. Most ppl report that their most exciting LDs are during these naps. It is also common to have long LDs that last only minutes in reality. I personally think it is best to take the nap somewhere other than where you sleep in case you have a false awakening. There are two reasons. First, if you wake up in your bed which it subconscious is used to, you'll be like how the eff did I get up here in my bed. Then you do a realitycheck and hopefully ur dreaming or else u got some intense sleep walking issues. It can also work another way. If you wake up where u took ur nap ( say on ur coach) you may think for a moment " why am I on my coach" and I'll remember ur intentions and do a rc. Fact is, we often have false awakenings every night but don't remember.

I can never wild in an afternoon nap. Ive tried many, many times and no dice. The best time for me is to wake at 4 am and begin trying.
I have about a 60% success rate at this time and 95% success rate if I use supplements.

im screwed with napping because i wake up at 7 for work each morning and i get home about 6:30 or 7 at night, and by that time its too late to nap because i have to eat dinner and i like to work out after work. any advice with how to manage a schedule like this? i normal get in bed to lay down at about 11ish.
P.S. tried a WBTB and it worked one night but it was a fluke because i woke up early to work out before work and didnt feel like it, so i went back to sleep and the moment before i fell asleep i thought, hey ill try picturing something tactile, so i did and became lucid, i would rather not have to wake up in the night though
