1-5 min. is the usual for me. It works great. |

I find that if I go to bed fairly tired about midnight and set my alarm for 5:30, I dream and have much better recall. The WBTB tutorials on the site say to stay awake for 30-60 minutes. Whenever I've done it successfully I'm usually only awake for 1-5 minutes. As long as I don't sleep through the alarm I remember the dream about 60% of the time. |

some people say u should stay up for 15min to a whole hour so your conscious enough to succesfully complete the WBTB WILD. but my experiences have just been like AlexLou's. i actually try to WILD when i first go to sleep, and whenever i wake up (i dont need perfect darkness and silence to complete it, since im a teenager and at this point in the morning i can fall asleep real fast) i just take a sip of water from the bottle next to my bed, and work out a math problem in my head. usually using a quadratic equation. nothing too straining. i never even get out of bed. then i attempt it when im done solving for X. |
