ACTUAL QUESTIONS BELOW (skip the story if it's too long )
I am pretty new to all this dreaming stuff. I heard about lucid dreams in a presentation last week so bare with me. I first read all the tutorials around here and it all sounded very confusing to do, but after reading Billybob's tutorial How to lucid dream (which I thought was very simple and effective), I started trying to attain lucidity. I started writing in a dream journal for the past 3 days and performed RCs only when i felt something was weird. I actually attempted WILD last night. To my surprise, I actually entered SP last night not once, but twice. After waking up from 5 hours of sleep to go pee, I went back to bed focused on performing a WILD. At first this was hard cause a million thoughts were running through my head.(excitement, nervous, etc...) I just told myself to relax and focus on my breathing. I slowly felt my body become very tired and drained, while my mind was focused slowly on breathing. My mind drifts into a dream where I am cleaning a kitchen, but I still sense my body is very tired and heavy. I finally become tired to the point where suddenly I enter SP and I was FREAKING OUT. I was actually lucid because I tried to count my hands, but all i could see was my body was a blurb. I tried to sit up but the weight pulled me back down. There was this weird numbing sound and tingling sensation I felt the whole time. I tried to imagine a different place from my room, but it failed. The heaviness of the weight was intense and i started panicing. All of a sudden I tried to take a deep breathe of air in and i awoke from SP. (The SP lasted just about 40 secs I think) I then began to have goosebumps for like 15 mins from thinking of what just happened. I try to WILD again after 30mins from the first one and the same thing happens, but this time I am eating a taco in my dream. I become so heavy, I enter SP again and this time I am much wiser. I actually stayed calm, pinch my nose and notice I am still breathing... Staying calmer i noticed that my body and surroundings are much clearer. I actually opened my eyes this 2nd time and I think this also helped me see better. I managed to get up from my bed slowly, opened my door, and took one step outside my room. This was hard though because of the weight I kept feeling was always against me. As i leave my room I just wake up again (SP was like 4 mins this time).........For my first time i AM VERY happy!!!
Key points in helping me get to SP, I personally felt were..
*Being prepared- know what to do when you get there
*Focus on your breathing- this not only clears your mind, but helps your body feel tired
*Staying calm- this is huge in have vivid and longer SPs
*Fundamentals- having a dream journal and RC when something is strange during the day really helps so far......
