Can't Stay Still and Keep Focused

So many techniques require you to be still in your bed for extended periods of time. I find it hard to stall still for more than 10 minutes. I get this insane urge to roll over while I'm laying down. Also, it seems that my mind consistently wanders while trying to do techniques. And it takes me about 30 seconds to get back on track, an amount of time that ruins most techniques.

My question is: how do you stay still and keep focused (especially when trying a technique)?
This is the date of my first lucid: 3/6/2010
It took WAY TOO LONG - but was completely worth it.

try doing the technique when you're more tired. Like if you do WBTB first, only be up long enough to sit up for a few seconds or go to the bathroom. Just be tired enough that you can still concentrate, but can fall sleep before you begin to feel restless. It takes trial and error to figure out how long that will be, but it will help once you figure it out.

If rolling over and being on your stomach or on your side is more comfortable for you, try sleeping that way. You don't have to be on your back for a technique like WILD to work.
