I've attempted several different methods of attaining WILD, but I think I've come to a block at the point of the transition between wake and dream. |

Sounds to me you've successfully hit SP (sleep paralysis). SP varies greatly. Some only ever get little tingly feelings. Others feel like they are tied to the mast of a ship in the middle of a hurricane. Often I feel like I'm falling out of bed. The sensations of SP often intensify until the point where you enter the dream and you no longer feel it. So, the intense static sensation that grows stronger is very normal. Despite what your body may be telling you, you are fine. Just try to relax and ride it out. You are so close! |

A problem of mine with WILD's is the fact that my mind is too clear and it ruins my attempt to let my body go to sleep, while my mind slips into a dream. I guess to phase out the part, where you get distracted by your rationale, you should focus your mind on something. Not to harsh though, because then you will never fall asleep! |

When you are that close, you can, again, breath deeply. You can focus on your breathing pattern and take full, regular breaths, without the risk of waking up. This way you can make sure that everything is going well, and repeat this every time, until your fixation ends. When you are in that state, turn your eyes upward and condense your body awareness in a point just above your head and paralysis will set in in seconds. |

Thanks everyone, this really helped. I now don't seem to have any problems reaching SP in 20ish minutes, barring distractions (I have a roommate, talking in sleep is brutal on concentration). I have a couple questions about progressing further. |
