      I cant stay asleep!!!

As soon as I become lucid I start to wake up. The spinning technique only works for a very short period of time. Ive tried distractions in my dream and same out come. I cant seem to stay asleep and Ive gotten my LD's up to about 10 a month on average. But all end very quickly. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Do you become lucid in dream or do you become lucid by a WILD?

May be what causes you to wake up all of a sudden upon becoming lucid is the fact that you probably get too excited. We all tend to get this thrush feeling, but you can control this.

All you have to do to remain in a lucid dream is just relax upon getting lucid and take a brief pause to observe your environment. After that, you can pretty much do anything you want-it's your dream.... This helps alot I been LDing since childhood and trust me this works for everyone.

rubbing my hands together calms me down and makes the dream much more vivid. I recommend trying it, and also looking at your hands. I never see my hands in a dream unless i'm lucid

think of something complicated like a puzzle or something physical like juggling

the spinning doesn't usually work for me but if i try something more subtle like juggling its more effective

      just my opinion though

I found sitting down in the dream helped me out a few times. I found this out by accident and tried it several times and cleared thing up nicely.

just take a few moments to stabalize the dream. Like mentioned, rub your hands together or examine things and really spend some time getting to know your surroundings and stay calm. verbal commands really work too. talking always helps. Just start shouting things like "I am dreaming!" or "increase lucidity" or something

EDIT: you should also read a tutorial on DEILD. it will help you to go right back into a lucid dream if you know you're going to wake up, so it wont matter if you wake up anyway.

I would try all the usual methods of retaining lucidity(rubbing hands together, spinning, etc) but my view is that you might not be able to retain lucidity as your scared that you'll lose it,(the mind has a tendency to be like that in dreams ) just try to tell yourself that you'll be able to LD I hope this has helped in some way, no matter how vague it is

Well to attain lucidity you should keep doing what you were doing before you became lucid and when you think of something do it. I use to freek out and get excited about being lucid and wake up.
