I just read about this technique (formerly known as HILD) on another forum. Has anybody else heard of it? Basically, it's similar to a WILD that you do after a WBTB except instead of concentrating on HI or counting, you concentrate on your index and middle finger moving up and done very lightly like you're playing a piano. You're supposed to do it while you're on the brink of falling asleep, and you're supposed to concentrate, not on falling asleep, but on doing an RC every 20-30 seconds.

The RC mentioned in the topic was holding your nose while trying to breath. I'm confused about this. Isn't the point of WILD (variation or otherwise) to trick your body into thinking you're asleep? If you move your hand to cover your nose and you're not dreaming, won't that just ruin the whole technique, or at least cause you to have to start over?

The technique sounded interesting to me, but also very tricky because of the RC required. Isn't there another one you could employ that wouldn't involve moving your body?

Any insight or information on this technique would be appreciated.
