WILD: in need of some advice please!!

well, poeple say that you should leave your computer. then after 5 or 6 hours of sleep. wake up, then go on Dreamviews for a while!... but for a start. i dont have a computer in my bedroom!, nor do i leave it on or have aney intension of going down stairs at 3 or 4 in the morning to go on the computer for 30 minutes. i need the sleep also, i have school in the mornings. and if not that then rugby!.. so i was woundering can i do WILD's before i go to sleep. or do you HAVE to have 5 or 6 hours of sleep first. and if so, then what can i do to pass the time. and why do you have to stay up for 30 minutes aneyway?.. i just cant be bothered! is there aney other way of inducing lucid dreams. Iv'e heard that if u wake up in the night, then move your index finger for a while and u will slip into lucidity?, can someone please give me a little help here. thanks!

you dont have to go on the computer. People just do that to pass the time, And i think the light from the computer screen wakes you up a little. You dont have to stay up for 30 min. either. You just need to stay up till you feel pretty wake and not so groggy. This could be two min, or 45 min. It doesnt have to be 30 min.

Its STRONGLY reccomended that you NOT WILD before you go to sleep.

that is called a FILD You do FILD when you wake up randomly through the night. When you wake up, dont move. Just almost wiggle your index finger and middle finger back and forth. Just almost move them, dont really do it. I havent ever succefully done a FILD though, so if you want more help you got to talk to someone else.

Also, I wouldn't recommend trying a WILD if you have to get up early, because if you fail, you might lose sleep... and be sleepy the next day.

If you're asking me.. I'd say that I successfully induce lucidity via WILD once a weekend on those weekends where I seriously try to WILD. 99% of my LDs are from WILDs.. it's the only method I've found that works for me.

Speaking of losing sleep, I tried WILD a few nights back and I felt SP set in, but nothing much happened beyond that for almost two hours! And after I gave up, I found it really hard to get to sleep at all. Is that kinda common, or was it just a bad night? :p

Did you try to WILD after WBTB or when you first went to bed? Either way it may have been that you weren't tired enough when you attempted or that your mind was simply too active/excited/anticipatory to let your body fall asleep.

It was WBTB, but it was a pretty poor attempt. I had been asleep for around seven hours and it was starting to get light out by the end of the wait. I think I'll try it again on saturday and post my results! Thanks for the help!

I made another attempt this weekend, but since it was getting light I decided to go for a FILD instead, because it seemed more to the point and I wasn't sure if I wanted to try WBTB. Anyway, I became semi-lucid for a really short period of time in which I managed to pop up in various places around my backyard "magically" and jump up a staircase- sort of. Thanks for the advice.
