Wild q2: What did you have to overcome, to have your first WILD?

      Pretty tricky question.

But I hope it goes straight into core. It is supposed to point at what you had to change, to have a successfull wild in respect to your unsuccessfull attempt.

The more personal and concrete, the better.

      Thanx for response.

i would always try WILD, and i would think to much. I was fighting to stay conscious and i wouldnt let myself feel the least bit sleepy. Soon by a stroke of luck i realised my mistake.
I woke up in the middle of the night on accident once, and i was trying to go back to sleep. I was just contemplating on my day and thinking about other things, trying to keep my mind busy till i drifted off to sleep. Without warning i got that wind rushing past your ears noise, and it felt like i was on a roller coaster. It suprised me so much i snapped out of it. Thats when i realised that i shouldnt be trying to stay awake, i should be trying to go to sleep...with a little twist

Its true, in things such as WILDing, Meditation, Astral Travel,...etc..among other things

Its really just about letting go, letting go of our fears, our expectations, anxieties, pressures...

I had my first OBE by accident, my first Lucid dreams without trying,
but as soon as you try too hard to induce them, you just end up defeating yourself

This is a lesson I am fortunate to be learning

I like that " Going to sleep with a little twist " so true

Its about letting go, but in a focused way

      - The Ultimate measure of a man, is not where he stands in moments of comfort , but where he stands in times of trial and controversy - Martin Luther King Jr.- We can all gain the same objective through love rather than hate, compare it to the police officer that takes to the streets to take down the criminals he hates, and the officer who is on the streets to protect those whom he loves....--It dosent matter how much you know, its how much people learn from you- wise words from a good friend

I had to overcome fear, the dweller (old hag maybe) always really scared me, but the first time I entered into my dream body I realized that I was in control of everything, and that nothing else could get to me.
      WILDs - 38
      MILD/DILDs - 44
      VILDs - 8
TILDs - 1 (Thirst Induced Lucid Dream, never going through that experience again...)
Total: 98 - So close to the big 100

care to elaborate on what you DO think about whilst doing this freefire?

this is interesting...I usually "try to wild"....not "go to sleep...with a little twist"....

and what stops you just going to sleep?

this has got me really excited all of a sudden...i fail my WILDS when I dont go to sleep because my body hurts from lying still. Maybe I need to focus more on losing awareness...not keeping it.

my biggest problem used to be falling a sleep

Usually all I'm focused on is falling into a trance state, I don't think of nothing and just lay there until I start getting Hypnogogic Imagery then I visualize a specific place (Not trying to see the place instead feel as if your there) eventually the image starts to come into picture.

I usually imagine myself in a crowded gym

as soon as you become conscious in the dream focus on a specific goal...in my case I'm looking for the exit which I then expect to see something different when I open the door I see a whole different place and that is when I star my WILDs

This thread is about what you did, when you first started to have WILDS regularly. What helped you?

Thanx for your help so far.

The only problem I had was I'd fall asleep, as a result I'd just go to sleep before actually trying to WILD...but what happened everytime I go to sleep I tend to always try to WILD and when I hit the point of flicking in and out of being awake I try to hold that for as long as possible until I actually fall asleep.

Pretty interesting. I often used to make relaxation at the evening. And i found out that its counterproductive. At least at this stage of my lucid experience. Everything what i did {and even now, mos of the time} was, that i forced myself to do wild. I forced my thoughts. I couldnt even fall asleep at the evening. Now I found out, that it exist a way, how to move yourself sleep. And maybe also into WILD. And that would consist of two moments:

      1. Focus on present moment
      2. Believe in your memmory

Now I will explain. Often i didnt believe in my own memory and so i repeated all the instructions of WILD in my head, while doing it. As i was not certain in which phase I am currently in, i was never sure what to do, and i forced myself to move into next phase.
But then, as from itself. I let everything go. And my brain from itself told me to breath, told me to count, and so on. So i could focus on present moment.
      And that was the key.

I know its easy to say, but it works. Still. I think. The biggest transition is to start believing, trully believing. And then it will start to work.

I believe this effect can be attained by counting, and imagining each number as it looks in your head. It seems you need to jump start that section of your brain to attain lucidity, and if you just purely count you are not.

You could also walk up steps in your mind as you count, and imagine how they look / how you feel.

By provoking your imagination you are "trying to go to sleep" rather then "trying to stay awake"

I was always too restless. I could never relax enough to fall asleep!

Now it's the opposite. I'm too tired to stay conscious! This can be fixed easily enough with proper motivation, however.

I had that problem at first, and I had to stay up a bit longer before going back to bed.

I am to the point now where I can get to SP almost 100% of the time when I WILD. But I do not always get lucidity, thats my current objective. These are the steps I had to take to correct my problems with WILD.

1.) I had to figure out how long to stay up after going to sleep. Which for me seems to be 30 minutes.

2.) I had to motivate my self to not stop counting. Otherwise I fall asleep.

3.) I had to imagine something in my mind. I usually imagine the numbers as I am counting.

4.) I had to not be as interesting with things started happening in SP. I would get excited and start thinking "I am about to get lucid. Yay!". That is not proactive for me.

5.) L-glutamine, L-theanine. or Galantamine + Choline seems to help me achieve the SP everytime instead of 10-20% that I was getting.
