      WILD without SP?

I've WILDed several times, and always hit the phase of vibrations, etc. But I've always had a lot of terror, discomfort, and pain with SP. There have been several times when it was so bad that I stopped.

However, the other night I was trying to WILD using WBTB and just slipped into a LD without any of that SP stuff. It was so amazing. I actually just sat there in my dream and felt surprised and relieved for a while. Then I woke myself up and did the same thing again, just to be sure it wasn't some kind of fluke. I loved it! I'm not even clear on how I did it. I wonder if maybe I lost conscousness just long enough to miss SP, but was still instantly aware as the dream formed around me.

      Any ideas?

sp is a one big misconception..

wild without yours sp is normal...
to feel pain or ( old hags, old witches..young witches, yound hags )* irony
      is not normal!

sp is always occures when someone goes to sleep..but it doesnt require to feel that you cant move your arms or legs..that means you are not only a body..body sleeps and you can go nuts with your imagination, dreams or other stuff.

Actually I just focused on feeling myself breathing.

All of my WILDs have happened rather quickly and accidentally, and have never involved SP. In fact, there are very few times in my entire life, if any, where I've even felt SP at all.

with first entirely successful wild, i did not feel any vibrations, or anything else, i only felt myself rollover, then fall off my bed, then i couldn't feel my body, instead i felt my dream body which was in a box. This was also a wbtb in the morning.

      Hello Seeker,

Like others already told you. SP is not at all a necessity for WILD. In fact, I will add to that that while SP and WILD are often correlated, they are NOT related.

They are two very different things that just happen to coïncide in time. WILD has to do with the aspect of dreaming and consciousness. SP has to do with the physiology of sleep. They're just two random strangers that go to work at the same time so often pass each other in the street

(the correlation between the two, and the reason why most tutorials do in fact quote SP as essential in WILD, is in my opinion a lesser known third factor, which is simply "attention". But that's a different discussion)

So that said, yes, it's perfectly normal to WILD without SP. Or vice versa, perfectly normal to get into SP without WILD'ing.

Personally, in the WILDs I've had, I never feel a thing. There's no vibrations, no numbness, definately no SP. On the contrary, if I feel these things, WILD won't come at all (because I can't shift my attention away from them like others on this board can. These sensations keep pulling me back to waking state and ruining my chances of falling asleep).

In the end, it's all about finding out what works for you
