Lightbulb Buddy System available - January 1st, 2008

      Hey everyone,

First off, this is not spam; it is a legitimate, not-for-profit, idea I have to help, inspire and coach each other through a guided, structured system to induce at will lucid dreams.

I am inviting anyone interested in partaking in a disciplined online course; the goal is to have lucid dreams whenever you want, during sleep.

      Be well,

      Don Parker

Man, your car took a ramming, dude. Glad you got out of that in one peice

Intriguing. But the strict schedule turns me (and probably every other college kid) off.

May i ask what your near death experience was?

I am creating a "strict" study regime for those wanting to commit to a disciplined structure. I have noticed that keeping a dream journal, noticing dream signs and doing reality checks on a regular basis increases the number of lucid dreams I have. When I fail to be consistent, the number of my lucid dreams drops significantly. Therefore I am starting a strict routine January 1st, 2008 and anyone interested in joining me are welcome.

      Hey B12,

      My near-death experience:

I do not recall the head-on crash at all. I only have the memory of a scene. The scene was so rich in color and detail, and so profound, that is stuck with me for weeks after the accident. I saw a line of cars to my left, and another row of cars to my right. All the cars were stopped, one behind the other. I had no focus or awareness of the crash scene at all. It was a peaceful experience. The 360 degree vision is not unlike other stories of near-death experiences.

I am convinced that my awareness or consciousness that is housed within my physical body was given the immediate order to vacate. I believe that this is the body/mind/spirit system’s way of dealing with physical death. It allows for the expulsion of the subtle energy body prior to the impact of death. In the same way, the physical body releases certain chemicals to deal with crisis and pain to the physical body. Shock is also used as a mechanism for surviving trauma, as is erased memory of the event.

These are merely my personal thoughts and opinions on the subject.

World of Warcraft is such a colorful, unreal fantasy setting; it's perfect for doing reality checks.

Also, working together as a team is a benefit.

And to top it all off, it's fun!

This all looks very promising and it really makes me want to send you an e-mail, the problem is that I can't have a strict schedule right now and that I tend to avoid WoW to prevent addiction.

Yeah -- how's the schedule supposed to work out? What do you mean by "strict"?

      Strict?

“Strict” means very structured. I will be using several sources as inspiration, particularly the study of Stephan LaBerge’s book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. We will all be held accountable to each other. This will inspire each participant to stay on top of the study.

The online course will last for 90 days. It will be split up into weekly goals, accomplished by following a daily structure. Each day will demand a short period of time; usually a few minutes here and there will be all that is required. Consistency is the key to success with this online course.

We will cover all the basics, starting from keeping a dream journal. This will be perfect for beginners and a terrific review for people who want to have more consistent lucid dreams.

      Addiction...

      Hey Kraik,

I know about addiction to World of Warcraft; been there. We will only be setting up an hour or two, here and there, for structured play together as a group. It will not be vital that you join the game play in order to complete the course. The online game will be extracurricular.

As for the time involved for the entire online course, it will only require a few minutes here and there during the day but will be CONSISTENT. That is the key!

I'm interested, but I'm not about to start paying for a WoW account just for this. So I can't be involved if I don't play WoW?

I shot you an email, Don. I'm joining, i've got no problem with it.

Guild Wars is cool, i'm not positive if i'd participate though -- money's a problem with me

You should pick a version of GW though, there's a bunch. I'd say just the original.

      Hey B12,

I replied to your email you sent me. Glad to see people jumping on board. I think we're up to half a dozen now!

I think it's going to be Guild Wars. The original version. I'll also get a server for voice communication. I have to investigate that a bit more. It will be a blast.

I believe - and it has worked for me - that while inside a fantasy setting, like WoW or Guild Wars, one is living in a type of unreal dream world. Asking yourself, "Am I dreaming?" while in essence, living within a dream, is a great way to answer with a positive, "Yes, I'm dreaming; I am lucid!"

That's my take on it. Also, we will all be able to chat and share how the week of practice sessions have been going. The message board will help with group networking throughout each week too.

I am really looking forward to all the background data everyone will be bringing with them. We will all learn from each other.

      Be well,

      Don

      Hi there.

Welcome to Dream Views and might I ask why you are recruiting members here? Is this the only place you're trying to gather participants or are you trolling all dream sites?

I might be in on this.

I'm not touching WoW, but I have other online games with surreal scenery.

Not WoW so I don't have to pay a monthly fee and get addicted to some mainstream MMO (especilly when there are better ones out there...). I'm talking strictly about myself here, so feel free to train via WoW for those receptive to that idea. I can get as much out of it as I can.

This sounds really interesting. I just got LaBerge's book Exploring the World Of Lucid Dreaming (no CD though) and I do see this as a huge opportunity to improve Lucid Dreaming at will. I'm considering to attend, but before I really can choose whether or not to do it I need to ask a couple of questions.

Approximately how much time per day would you have to spend on the online course?
As far as I can see you need to own LaBerge's book (and possibly to play WoW) to be able to attend, am I right?

These are the questions I can think of right now.

      Best regards,
      DreamerRoss

If people have issues with monthly subscriptions, there are plenty of good looking Free MMOs out there. If not, I'm pretty sure GuildWars doesn't have a monthly fee.
