I'm guessing you want a game with a 3D Fantasy environment. There are plenty of free MMOs that you don't need to buy. I did some research.
Here are a bunch. This site also has links to all sorts of MMOs.
I feel ashamed that DreamViews is full of cheap bastards like JD.
And I'm ashamed of Sindred too. Happy? Now go get laid.
Well, besides the last sentance I suppose it's fair. Just know that he did it aswell.
I know you just said you were joking but let me explain a few things on what he just did there. Right, before, as a joke. I private messaged Sindred (regretted) and told him about this. He said back in reply "Put it in your avatar and spam it over the forum, 'Viva La' style" so I thought I'd do it for a laugh. I made that thread called 'Please love this man', soon to find out that Sindred made another thread part similir. So I see what people think of that picture I made (Inverted colour, says 'Love' on it). Post it about, and then he turns moronic and gives me the "I am mature now, Jdeadevil stop being childish". So basically he's the one who gave me the idea to start with. So I find it a rather stupid counter attack to call me a cheap bastard.
But, as I read on that you're joking about it. So it's all cool.
So if anyone else feels like pissing on me, just know that if I'm not such a bastard.
Okay folks. Here goes...
I'm leaning toward Guild Wars for a few reasons. First, it has no monthly subscription fee. Second, it has built-in voice communication; one of the advertisements I saw on EBgames.com shows the game title with a headset/mic included as a bonus. The final reason I think I’m going to choose Guild Wars is the feedback I’ve been receiving.
Please understand that buying and playing the game is NOT necessary to complete the online lucid dreaming course I will be conducting. It’s just a fun way to communicate and the fantasy environment is good for doing reality checks.
The only required cost will be to get a hold of the book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. It can be purchased, used, on Amazon.com for $3.61. I think that is a reasonable investment for a 90 course on lucid dreaming.
The type of magic I do is platform and close-up. I don't do stage illusions.
I love the photo adaptations – Merry Christmas to you too!
Don
I shot you an email, Don. I'm joining, i've got no problem with it. :)
Guild Wars is cool, i'm not positive if i'd participate though -- money's a problem with me :-P
You should pick a version of GW though, there's a bunch. I'd say just the original.
Hey B12,
I replied to your email you sent me. Glad to see people jumping on board. I think we're up to half a dozen now!
I think it's going to be Guild Wars. The original version. I'll also get a server for voice communication. I have to investigate that a bit more. It will be a blast.
I believe - and it has worked for me - that while inside a fantasy setting, like WoW or Guild Wars, one is living in a type of unreal dream world. Asking yourself, "Am I dreaming?" while in essence, living within a dream, is a great way to answer with a positive, "Yes, I'm dreaming; I am lucid!"
That's my take on it. Also, we will all be able to chat and share how the week of practice sessions have been going. The message board will help with group networking throughout each week too.
I am really looking forward to all the background data everyone will be bringing with them. We will all learn from each other.
Be well,
Don
Hi there.
Welcome to Dream Views and might I ask why you are recruiting members here? Is this the only place you're trying to gather participants or are you trolling all dream sites?
World of Warcraft is a retarded fucking knock off of the best game ever, just with updated graphics...The next MMO that has even better graphics will take its place soon enough.
EQ is way better.
I apologize for the inconvenience. The thread has been restored by the Admins, though it has been moved to Attaining Lucidity, as you can tell :P
Don now has the green light to continue with this. Go nuts guys! :D
Hi Don,
I'm interested in your group, but what the heck, I'm interested in everything! I look forward to seeing your program in action. I've got to warn you though, I'm pretty skeptical about most things like OBE, skeptical but open minded, so you're going to have to convince me. =P
Has anyone spoken to you about posting a reciprocal link in your lucid dreaming section for Dreamviews?
Hi Don,
I sent you an email because I'm also interested in your course.
I've been interested in out of body travel for over 30 years now, but have been a lot less successful at it than I would have hoped to be.
Maybe making a commitment like this and having a support group will help.
I read an interesting principle in a book by Sylvan Muldoon about 30 years ago concerning reacting to negative situations and negative people in positive ways in order to raise ones own vibrations which then makes it easier to exit the body.
There sure has been a lot of opportunity to do that in this thread hasn't there?
I commend you for your attitude and your offer to help.
Make a link to my profile.
Guys, really, look at all the shit we're giving Don (not in a hurtful way) and he's taking it as it should be -- with humor!
I respect that, it shows me that we've got a mature guy trying to lead a program that'll help whoever's involved. Can't wait for it. :)
Howdy Don,
I'm far from a believer in OBE NDE and any of the other illogical things out there, buuuuut I also believe that everything should be studied from an objective view, therefore I'm willing to try to contribute to your goals with an open mind.
Hey all,
Can I ask what level this is aimed at?
I've had one induced lucid dream before but this was a looong time ago ~10 years. I kinda dropped it all after achieving that, now over the last month or so I seem to have become interested in all this again. Anyway effectively I think I should be considered a beginner to LD, is this course open to me?
