Huh. I've never had trouble breathing, but perhaps you can experiment by sleeping on extra pillows or something. Or, go to bed when you're really tired... that way you might not even notice your breathing problems. |

when i was younger, i used to get sleep paralysis almost every time i slept on my back. although i did not know what it was at the time, i did know that it was extremely scary and uncomfortable! since then, i have developed a habit of ONLY sleeping on my stomach. now, realizing the possibilities of SP pertaining to LDing, i want to try to sleep on my back again. however, every time i try, i become extremely uncomfortable and i have trouble breathing. does anyone else have this problem? it's like i can't really get a deep breath while lying on my back, and i am forced to turn over and find another sleep position. any quick-fix solutions? i have been mostly unsuccessful with WILDing and i have heard that it works best while lying on your back, but for me, that's almost impossible! thanks guys. |

going to sleep when i'm extremely tired actually does seem to work for me occasionally. but normally then, i'm too tired to even concentrate on WILDing and i just end up passing out |

I wouldn't recommend more pillows, I'd recommend less. Having your neck tilted while on your back clogs up your airways more, and perhaps your troubling breathing stems from that. |

haha well, it's the price you pay to open up new doors for LDing! |

Yeah I thought about that too. In fact I think it would be best if you could prop up your upper half rather than just your head. But experiment.. you never know what might work for you. |

i like that idea, Mes Tarrant. |

Yeah my father has this weird pillow that lifts your whole back, it rocks xD |

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.
I find I need to "lower my chin" to breathe deeply while lying on my back. I invite SP, because to me it means I'm almost lucid. It takes me a very long time to achieve SP on my back, as I usually sleep on my side. |

Simple, do this a week you are not disturbed in the morning, not by any sounds, or anyone, or anything! [As soon as e.g. one start to think: "Today I will first do this and do that,.. " One might forget the dreams. And then they can be mush harder to recall...] |

I know who I am, as I become...
apparently if you sleep on your back your more likely to snore. i can only sleep in the fetal position |
|
I haven't been able to sleep on my back, ever. |
