The idea behind this is to scare yourself silly as much as possible throughout an entire day. Then, when you go sleep (with the intention of having a lucid dream), you'll (most likely) have a nightmare, which are inherently easier to DILD from.

That is true, but i hate nightmares. Unfortunately I end up waking myself up, or the things and scenes stay. :P
That's true. I've tried it a few times before with near success, so I was just wondering if anyone's heard of this before :?
