      I Did It!!!

I finally had a lucid dream! Well I mean I had lots as a kid, and have had a few as an adult, but hadn't had any in a few years. I tried for a couple months two years ago but didn't have much luck, put it down for a while, and just started trying again a couple weeks ago.

What happened was I didn't get much sleep last night, had to go out this am (well, tuesday morning), came back later that morning and laid down for a nap, had time to think about lucid dreaming for probably two minutes before I just passed out cos I was SO tired. The bad news is I went back to sleep right after awakening from the lucid, without writing it down, in hopes I could get back into it, but I didn't, so my memory of the dream is pretty bad, but I remember doing a reality check - looking at some text, looking away, and looking back and there were THREE different versions of what I'd just read, and I just thought "I'm in a dream" I think some other stuff happened, and then I thought "I want to see Carl Barat" (Lead singer of Dirty Pretty Things, and the Libertines before them). I said to myself, 'when I go in the next room, Carl will be in there", and when I walked in the room, there he was I remember talking to him, and argh, I know more happened, but it's gone. Like I said, I awoke, and rather than write it down, I went right back to sleep in hopes of getting back into the dream, but it didn't happen.

Still, I'm SO happy. I finally did it All I can say is that doing reality checks consistently, several times a day, really does pay off... and don't start doing them by rote, just glancing at yr hands, thinking am I dreaming, nope, and going on with your day. Really stop, look, think about it, and ask yourself the question.

I'm going to have another lucid dream tonight, this time with more control, and it's going to last longer and be extremely vivid

Well done! That sounds like a great dream, with great control (like the Carl Barat thing ). Good thing the RC worked for you - usually I just rely on the nose RC.

It's great to see someone with such positive spirit about their lucid dreaming.
