Need help
I have become very good at keeping my mind awake at night. I've been doing WBTB and trying for my second LD. I got my first one by doing a WBTB, staying awake in my room for 15 minutes, and keeping my mind awake for an hour and a half until I fell asleep. Last night I had no success because I was awake the entire time. What are some good ways to fall asleep or should I not try to stay awake at all?
PS: I had a dream last night at the point where I was closest to falling asleep. It started out of as a mini-dream, these wierd dreams you get before falling asleep, and then started to behave like a normal dream. I Completely knew I was in a dream and was completely concious of my physical surroundings in real life. Because I could feel my real body, I made no effort to control it. When I thought about it too hard the dream stopped. I wasn't trying to WILD, but was this the part when you slip into a dream or somthing?

Does anyone have suggestions about falling asleep???

I just kind of let it flow. If I think too much about falling asleep then my mind starts to get anxious and won't sleep. Just try to relax and it'll either happen or not I think.

what technique do you use to get lucid?

That mini-dream is called hypnogogic imagery. It happens every time you fall asleep, if you let it play out it may or may not turn into a full dream. Whether it does or doesn't seems arbitrary, but once the imagery goes away do a reality check.
The guy above you's LD counter is at one, asking him what technique he uses is pretty useless :P No offense. For beginners, DILD and WBTB work the best. But try a WILD anyway. I fail WILD's a lot, but recently I've noticed that while I'm waiting to WILD I'm thinking about lucid dreaming so I end up with a WBTB.
