      Try ear plugs

One thing that helps me to WILD is to wear ear plugs. I therefore can hear such things as my own heart beat and blood rushes in my head.

As I focus on auditive hallucinations, hearing clearly in my ears the roaring sounds that are to me signals I'm falling asleep, it becomes easy to remain aware of the shifting between the wake and sleep states, and to enter the lucid dream with full control from the starting point.

I've tried ear plugs before. They're pretty good, they get you to concentrate on your breathing.

I'm wearing earplugs right now, as I'm about to take a nap. I've never used them before and I'm not sure why. They're great! I can't hear a sound other than my own breathing, and my brother is right outside my door yelling at people on Xbox Live. I think when I eventually do try to WILD, these will be perfect.

Exactly how many times did you succeeded, in achieving lucid dream using this method?

      Success rate

Since I usually wear ear plugs when taking a nap, and since most LDs occur during naps, I'd say the success rate ought to be 99 %.

Important : I may have no LD when wearing ear plugs. But when I have a LD, I'm always using ear plugs. So it's not a sophism.

Maybe you're trying to hard. That my problem, I think too hard about it, and I don't relax enough.

I've wondered the same thing myself. I think I'm going to get a pair, or a few? Maybe try a few differnt kinds out. I used to sleep with music, but now I just sleep without it. I find it better.

What kind do you guys use? My earplugs don't even come close to blocking the sound of my bf snoring, which is what keeps me from WILDing most nights.

      Shape

I use orange earplugs with a vase shape, and made of compacted synthetic foam. You have to roll them between fingers before inserting them in your ears, and then keep them in place while they expand.

Useful not only when sleeping, but also if you attend a Rock concert with music too loud Ť— wearing ear plugs on such occasions results on a clear sound.

I think the artist might take offense!
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to walk from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where—" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you walk," said the Cat.
"—so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "If only you walk long enough."

The artists themselves often wear specially designed heavyduty ear plugs so they don't permanently damage their hearing by being exposed to so much loud music so often.

Yeah I don't know if I like them or not yet. I don't really like the feeling of them in my ears. but I do like that they block out all extra sounds. Thats really handy, because my family is kinda loud when I go to bed. But the overall feeling of them in my ears is uncomforatble. Maybe I'll just get used to if I do it long enough.
