Become 'awake' when you are 'awake' - most people, even LD seekers are not -- I should actually say -- conscious during the day, they sleep walk through life.

Take a different route to work, take a different door to the same building, sit in a different spot if you can. Move you furniture or do something to change what you normally do.

Not just that but be aware of your awareness. Whenever you see a habit forming in yourself - consciously UNdo it! If you can hone this skill, I can guarantee your consciousness will be 2-10times fold what your normal (lucid) dreams are. If you can stop a habit so ingrained in you while awake, then every time you (especially) go into your 'turtle shell' when a monster comes at you and just run instead of facing him. You will be able to stop and face that monster while asleep And that's just one example ...

This sounds quite interesting. I'll try this. A side effect, I think, is that waking life will be more interesting as you're always experiencing "new" things instead of just the same old habits.

Something that will greatly help lucid dreaming is just being more aware... all the time. Don't just focus on whatever you're doing, but focus on everything. For example, while you are reading this, you don't see everything else on your desk, and everything happening around you is unknown to you, to an extent... for example, if someone walked into the room, you might notice. Stopping things like this from happening will carry over your awareness to the dream world, making DILD's easy
