      Can't WILD =[

For the past few nights, I've been trying out Oneironaut_Jeff777's "Trick-your-body-into-falling-asleep" technique, but I can't WILD. I'm sure I feel the fake uncomfortability stage and the wierd sensations stage, but after that i'm just lying there until I give up and fall asleep normally. Tonight, i'll try some different methods, but I just want to know why this one isn't working for me.

It could take a while. Patience is a virtue.

You also might want to try out different variations on WILD. Have you read some of the other tutorials? Are you doing wake-back-to-bed?

I also recommend a combination of natural supplements: galantamine + choline. There's a thread on it in the Lucid Aids section of this site. If everything else fails, check that out. It makes WILDing much easier, but it isn't quite the same, though I've only used it successfully a few times.

But read up on WILDing first, and keep at it for a few weeks or a month. Like I said, it can take some time. WILDing is not easy.

I would also recommend Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming (ETWOLD) by Stephen LaBerge and Howard Rheingold. That's where it all started for me. It doesn't say everything, and you can find a lot of the same stuff on this site, but I think it gives a good coherent explanation of LDing, along with exercises and different techniques. Basically, it lays a systematic foundation, which I found--and still find--extremely helpful.

If you have $7 bucks, buy it, read it, apply it.

I thought the same thing it's tricky but you have to master zoning out if you want to be a good WILDer, you just got to relax and not just physical, let your thoughts come and go and watch passivly, it's important to visualise too, that would involve all 5 senses too be the best, you just have to master feeling each one in a zoned out state and be immerged into the dream (though the 5 senses arn't necissary they help alot if mastered). Try WBTB too but don't wake up for too long if it's hard to get to sleep, and if your having trouble staying awake consciously then just stay awake alittle longer before trying.

Though a balance can be developed to maintain conscious and fall asleep at the same time it is tricky, and a very thin line to walk, thats what makes wilding so hard.
