i'm not sure about that....it's a good idea to wake up around 5 hours after you first go to sleep because that will allow plenty of time for the first period of REM to set in and let you have a bunch of dreams which in my case are always non-lucid...then if you wake up after that first cycle and stay up for 30-90 minutes and go back to sleep (which can be hard depending upon how easily you fall asleep after being woken up, so try out different lengths of time) you more quickly enter another period of REM which in my case is more likely to be lucid. At that point you might not want to wake yourself up after another hour because you could be interrupting a dream. I think it's best to let your internal clock wake you up which will often be after a period of REM is over leaving you with a vivid picture of the dream still in your mind. but you should try your method anyway as an experiment, maybe it will work wonders for you
