a little DILD help if you would...

I have got fairly decent recall...and every night I miss out all opportunities for DILD. my problem is...in real life, i really see nothing that makes me think...am i actually awake?

Anything goes in my dreams, because real life is just that...real...normal. Doing RCs just for the sake of it seems wasteful, because I have no effort to put in to it.

anyone got any tips on how I can be more observant in the dream world?

i was thinking just spending time in waking life when I'm bored....checking out everything around me to see if anything is normal....does that sound a smart move? any other tips? im sick of missing out on DILDs

Hi, I have the same problem as U. Don't like doing RCs and seeing things as they are....REAL...:P. But what worked for me is to use a dreamsign method. If U don't have a dreamsign then U might want to try what I did. It sure made me do RCs and as a result got me a few LDs. U can for example while in reality...create a scenario where something odd happens and U do an RC. But U don't care if it was created or not...just do an RC when U find it's odd...known as dream rehearsal. An example would be to take a different route to Ur house and then think to Urself...Hey this is not the usual route I normally take....DO AN RC!...:). Create something out of the ordinary and then do an RC. Most likely when done regularly and after a period of time it should rub onto Ur dreams and U'll remember to do an RC because the oddity came with an RC created by U!

Yeah I tried dreamsings and RCs, they did absolutely nothing for me. I began getting a steady stream of dilds by simply thinking about lucid dreaming regularly and telling myself it's easy and how good I am at it. Sounds stupid but it works. If RCs work for you though, do that :P

There are certain awareness levels that we start out with in dreams they are somewhat pre-determined however the only way I know of countering this is to be more aware in your waking life. I.E. paying attention to details noticing different things that you would usually not take time to consider and hopefully this will carry over into the dream world.

Ok, the way I see it is you have 2 good options now that you have good dream recall, I recommend you do both to gain more awarness of your current state of awareness.

First try and think about the way your dreams feel, well more of the way you feel well your in them, (also everytime you think of lucid dreaming, through that dream feeling into the mix) you have to get the dream feeling stronger through good recall, not just remembering your dreams but learning about them, and what dreams really are, and all the abstract feelings.

Secound is Mindfulness, very simple concept but difficult to sistain, simpley observe reality and all the little things there are, pay attention to sounds and feelings (physical and mental) try to stop doing stuff out of habbit (basicly raise your conscious) you see most of us do stuff on a subconious level, for an example that irritating kid in your school may not relise he is bugging you at that moment (his consious isn't yet raised) and you have feelings beneith the surface, no doubt, that you don't pay attention to, you see the more you notice the small things, the more your subconscious will merge into your conious and you will eventually become one (noticing every little feeling and being able to duplicate it), to make yourself feel strong emotion, and confidence, and set the mood for goals you have.

I think what you're describing is Dream Yoga. BillyBob_001 made a good tutorial for it. You should have a look at this ;)

I have exactly the same problem as James, and the funny thing is that i've had a few dreams were i was acctually explaining to someone what a lucid dream is lol

Last night in my dream I was discussing with a group of people how reality should not be taken for granted, and for all we know we could be in a dream state at any moment. Dammit, it's so irritating!

Oh man I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses out on these LD opportunities like that!

THAT TUTORIAL mega helpful for anyone with the same problem I had. i reconmend...my first LD last night for like 2 months
