That technique was made before i turned polyphasic. It is aimed at the regular 8 hours sleep pattern. When you are polyphasic, everytime you go to sleep it is like WBTB: dreams form minutes or seconds after you fall asleep. (so this technique becomes useless)
Through polyphasic sleep, REM can indeed be shifted to the beggining of sleep. But that is not the idea in this tutorial. WILDing from the beggining of sleep is just harder and more time-consuming. It is still completely possible.
When you transition to a dream during WILD, high chances are you'll dream that you are still WILDing. That's because you will believe you are WILDing, thus it is taken into your dream. The transition may be detectable to some people, but it isn't for some others, myself included. The only way to be sure is to get up and try a RC.
