      slightly different WILD

      I just had this idea when perfecting my concept of WILD.


      I find it hard to get into the right mindset for a WILD attempt, especially because I don't combine it with WBTB for my own reasons. I can, however get to Sleep Paralysis in my attempts: it only takes a bit of self control.

      Based on all my experiences (which aren't that much ) I revised a few instructions of a successful WILD.

      1. Prepare to sleep, make sure nothing is going to be a problem: you know, the usual pre-WILD bullshit ;D
      2. When attempting to do WILD in the beggining of sleep, you will have many things still in mind, so, lay down and forget about WILDing for some time. Brainstorm how much you want. The only thing you have to make sure is that you won't doze off. Don't focus on anything related to WILD: not your body nor HI nor anything; just your so-important nightly thoughts. Think whatever you want to.
      3. After all the brainstorming (you won't even notice time passing, but it will pass), "remember" about WILD: bring your attention back to it. You will notice, by this time, that your body is already in the fully relaxed state it takes so much to enter. You will feel as if you had woken in the middle of the night. Now is the time to WILD.
      4. Do a kind of self hypnosis, but don't use suggestions. Instead, make yourself feel heavier and heavier. Pay attention to your body, but do not focus on it.
      5. Sensorial hypnagogic hallucinations will come up any time now. They may come in any form, but people usually describe them as "vibrations". I myself feel a kind of electric shock through all my body. Focus on these sensations, and increase them if you want to.
      6. After being in the fullness of hypnagogic hallucinations, you will probably notice the effects of Sleep Paralysis: you may find it hard to know in which exact position you are lying, and you may get the impression you're phasing through your bed.
      7. This is the tricky part: move. High chances are you are now moving your dream body instead of your real one. Move and do a reality check, no matter if you think your attempt was unsuccessful. Now lucid away


      The only 2 potential issues with this technique are:
      1. You might doze off when brainstorming, at stage 2. If you do, face this stage with the same approach as MILD: tell yourself that, when you are done with your thoughts, you will come back to WILD. Saying this will make your mind remember about WILDing when it judges your thoughts done.
      2. The tricky part with moving your body in order transition into the dream is probably the feeling that you will wake up. Finding the right time to move takes trial and error, but you must take the chance. Whenever you believe your body image no longer corresponds to your physical body, then move. Many people will actually dream they are in Sleep Paralysis because they refuse to move.

      This technique uses sleep onset thoughts to do the dirty job of making you enter the first stages of WILD: the so-called relaxed state. Apart from that, it is not much different from other WILD techniques.
