Well, a very cheap watch would be what, 10 bucks? It's not much of an "investment" in that case then. |

Although I'm currently reading up on WILD and MILD techniques, I'm steadily trying to improve my chances of having more DILDs. I do this by keeping an active Dream Journal and by doing RCs every now and then during the day. |

Mes summed it up nicely. |

Hi, I've had some experience with watches for lucid dreaming. I din't use Ur beeping idea cause I don't wear a watch IRL. I have so far bought 2 watches..one Casio analog middle class 18 bucks and one digital sports middle class 16 bucks specially for LDing which I now use cause the analog one isn't so good to use in the dream. I'd say U should choose one U like as in really like not just cause it's cheap....higher chance of seeing it in the dream IMO. The watch U buy will probably appear exactly the same as IRL and U should also wear it when U sleep and do a RC whenever U wake up even briefly...U need to set that intent. Good luck... |

Vibrating ones are better: |

That sounds like a good idea, and one I wouldn't mind trying :p. However, the watches I wear are analog, just for the style lol. It could work, and I would say, why not try it? |
hey i'm trying to use this same technique. I've set my watch (18 dollars) to hourly chime for about the past three weeks and to a nose plug RC at each one, but I don't think it's beeped in my dreams (if i've worn it at all in them). but who knows? it could work for you. Plus the benefits of well-equipped digital watches (alarm, stopwatch, date, glowing diplay) i have found are well worth the investment |
I have a Timex "Ironman" digital wristwatch that has a countdown & repeat function, and sets an alarm off at the end. It's a little longer than the hourly beep, but not a full blown alarm. I set it for 20 minutes, so it counts down 20 minutes, goes off, and starts over. |
I tried this last night. I had a special track on my iPod running in a loop: a beep and half an hour silence. It didn't work but I'm gonna try it for a while before I abandon this technique. |
I use a watch for this same purpose. In my case though, I always leave the watch next to my bed since training to do an RC whenever you hear a beep is almost instantly learned. My biggest problem is the same as PJ's - although the beep is rather loud, I never hear it in my dreams. |
I'd like to get a digital watch that gives a small shock every hour so that you might remember to do the "automatic" reality check during sleep as well. |
I've done it for a few nights now but apparently I don't hear it when I'm sleeping. |
Thanks again for all your inputs - very interesting to read! |

As One Dream Avatar once said, A RC can not be just a random thing. When something seems out of place ...do an RC. The hourly beep may not be a good thing. |
