Well I did a WBTB and tried to WILD. I got frustrated then went to sleep. A while later I 'woke up' but knew instantly I was dreaming! (By the way, I realise that this is NOT a successful WILD, it was just a lucky DILD!)

I'm using reality checks at the moment, and they seem to be working pretty well. I would like to learn things like DILD and WILD, though. (I'm new to lucid dreaming.)

How often do you RC in the day? What RC do you use? And how did you get a LD? Did you go to sleep telling yourself you will LD or something.

someone correct me if im wrong but if you are doing RCs...then you are already trying DILD. in the hope you will RC in a non-lucid dream...?

and my first LD was the DILD/RC method

It seems like a lot of people used DILD... I think I'll try that and maybe get lucky!

My first few true LDs were result of DILD. Since then, I'd still attribute a majority of them to that though, WILD comes in a close second. MILD is third.

And some one correct me if I'm wrong. I think RCs can possibly be part of the DILD or MILD process. If you are just doing a random RC then it's probably a DILD (though I always thought that DILD were spontaneously induced or by recognizing anomalies in the dream world). If you are doing an RC because you saw something that you remember as being a dream sign or in response to a predetermined trigger (whenever I see a fire I will RC) then it would be a MILD.

There should be an RCILD, that is, an LD induced by a successful random RC alone.

For me, RCs are usually a tool to confirm my suspicion that I may be dreaming.
