That's the reason I use earbuds, they are more comfortable while lying down. Whenever I use those big ear covering ones they always get pushed by my pillow and don't cover my ears properly. It's just too distracting. A good set of earbuds can work perfectly fine. I've done it before and it works for me. I'm not saying earbuds can match the quality of those studio headphones, but they're easily good enough for this type of thing.

This is where i'd have to disagree with you. You might be able to get results with earbuds, but you'll get better ones with over-the-ear heaphones.
