I've been working out of my apartment lately and I've taken a couple quick power naps in the afternoon, around 3 or 4pm for about 30-60mins. I've noticed that my HI is superb in the afternoon. It seems that the light coming in from the window helps my visualization. At one point it was strong enough that it looked real. The only problem is, even after focusing intently on the images, I never fell into lucidity.
I concentrated on my breathing and then on the images. I achieved a little numbness, but never got to the falling. When I felt myself getting closer and closer to almost falling asleep, I would wake up for no apparent reason. I think I may have been getting excited(?) I felt my eyelids trying to open on their own but I always managed to keep them shut. I think the only thing that really hurt me were those moments where I would "wake-up". How can I get around those? If I can contunually become more relaxed, those wakeups shouldn't happen anymore right?

The HI seems really promising. Even though you haven't woken up from your REM sleep, you should be able to develop a good deal of numbness and a sense of movement, even though your body is not moving.
I'm not sure how experienced you are, but maybe you just need a bit more practice. Other than that, the only thing I could suggest for working on full lucidity would be to wake up after REM. I would say that if you have problems with your naps, you'll probably need to wake up half way through a REM cycle to acheive lucidity.

Yeah, I often take these naps, and they are good for lucidity, because of HI.

Hum, I've enver been able to WILD in the middle of the afternoon. Is there a different process than doing it in the middle of the night, or is it just the same. Maybe i will try to do some in the middle of the afternoon one of these days

I have better HI in the afternoon so the wilding process happens a lot quicker. However, I have yet to have a lucid from a WILD in the afternoon or early mornings after sleeping for 7 hours.

Napping is the best way for me to have a lucid dream! They're usually not as intense, though. But I almost always have LDs during naps nowadays. :)

I lucked out and had what I think is classified as a "DILD" during a nap on my couch in the late afternoon/early evening. my first LD ever ^_^
