Sounds like a good technique. I'm a fairly regular Lder and I'll give this technique a try tonight. It seems to give you a much greater chance of getting both DILDs and WILDs.

GJ writing this one up man... This is my first time seeing it

does this have anything to do with the senseless banter game of bringing back old threads I completely forgot about this, I should try this more.

I don't think so, but I've already began lying in bed (laptop) and doing reality checks and observing my surroundings. Giving myself a couple hours start. Probably not going to sleep for a while. Tomorrow I'll post if it worked or not..

Gah.. It didn't work last night but I'm going to try it again tonight. I had some pretty intense dreams last night though.

I think I may have tried too hard. Normally when I don't try so hard it works.

I have already been using something similar, unaware of doing so. I prep myself before bed.
Originally I planned to do WBTB, but end up waking doing an RC and reviewing past dream(s) and saying to myself "I will dream again", "I will be Lucid and aware".
I set my cell phone on vibrate in my sock for 4.30am, 6am and 7.30am, so as not to wake my wife.
I do this for about 2-3 mins each wake and try to get back to a past dream (Cos it's fresh in my subconcious and at this point concious). I don't actually get out of bed.
Night before last I did this and had a 3 second moment of LD in a dream.
This morning I couldn't get back to sleep at the 4.30am wake, so spent an hour trying and doing the prepping again, and eventually went back to a prior dream and was in control at first, then after a few seconds of control turned lucid!
I was grabbing an old girlfriend from ouside a party and walked her down to the lake and....well I was Lucid right up to the real good part. (Must have got too excited)
Maybe the motion of brisk walking kept the lucidity going. It is usually darkish so it must be easier to get lucidity with the darkness around.
2 LD's in 3 nights of trying, since I was a child 30 years ago when it just happened a couple of times.
For me this is the go. Let me know if anyone has any little adds to help, but this works for me and I don't have to actually get up for 30 mins to an hour at 4.30 am.
I might have stumbled straight onto my Holy Grail straight off. Fingers crossed.
