I think whatever you need to feel fine is enough. If you're too tired after 4 and 6, then yeah 5 would be perfect. |

Ok, for the past few months I've been only getting 4-5 hours of sleep without any sleep deprivation problems. It seems to be a norm thing now. Problem is that it has become extremely hard to LD lately and I can only remember 1 1/2 dreams at a time... Is it because I've been waking up at the wrong times? How many hours of sleep should I be getting? |

I think with the lack of sleep, you would have less of a chance to become lucid. |

youll never reach the deeper REM states with 4-5 hours |

its sounds like it might be the amount of sleep you are getting. even if you feel like your energized, i don't think 4-5 hours of sleep is enough for anyone, even if it feels like it is. i could be wrong though. |

Once I wake up 4-5 hours, it's hard to fall back asleep. I'm an extremely sensitive sleeper so the slighest amount of light hitting my face will wake me up. My window faces the sunrise so it pretty much wakes me up at the brake of dawn. Even when my sister opens the door when I'm asleep I will wake up quickly and instantly sit straight up mad because of the light. *lol* Maybe if I cover up my window with something thick to block out the light, I'll be able to stay asleep longer and easier. |

Hi, I also have difficulty falling asleep after 5 hours. I take natural sleeping pills which takes an hour to kick in, mean while I think about having LDs and visit the forrum. I have had a few LDs this way |
|
All I know is that all my LDs happened when I was having the longest sleep. I slept for about 9- 12 hours. |

I went asleep at 5am and ended up waking up at 7am. Way ahead of my alarm schedule. However I did try falling back to sleep only to end up waking up three times, but during that time my dreams ended up becoming more normal in scene and erratic switching to different subjects. I don't know how that will work with attempting LD. |

like i said in my previous post, i usually get about 6 hours of sleep a night. i had my first and only LD when i had a decent amount of sleep for the first time in weeks (about 10 hours). so anyway, the only way i can get this much sleep is on the week ends unless i went to sleep at 8:00 P.M. |
