Ehrm... yeah. This is totally true. I'm still learning to WILD, I've had two successful ones so far, but the second, a couple of days ago, only lasted about 20 seconds or so. But, WILD is definitely worth it. It's really something else, an experience in itself. The transition... yeah. Cool.

But... it takes a lot of work if you're not a natural. I worked for about 2-3 weeks before getting my first success, and then a month went by between my first and second successes. I'm making about 3 SERIOUS attempts per week. So... yeah. Don't be discouraged, keep working at it, and you'll eventually get it. Plus, some failed WILDs, especially if you get HI, are actually a whole heap of fun in themselves.

Other techniques MAY work better for you, BUT, you just don't know. You've gotta do what feels right. For me, that's WILD... but yeah.
