      Dream sign+Question LD

Hello. I haven't visited DV in quite some time. Just logged back in. I was wondering, i've had the dream sign: light switches not working, and I know it's a dream most of the time, but how to you trigger a LD from this? I can take control of that situation, but i'm in the same room where the lightswitch is. I'm always the only person around in the room. What I'm saying is there isn't anything to do in that situation even if I did become Lucid.
I could try that "Spin" technique, never tried it before..where you spin into a different scene or w/e..any feedback would be great, thanks!

      Welcome back, Mr_Fire!

You're right - malfunctioning electrical devices is a common dream theme. For me, it's cell phone problems (no signal, or can't dial the number properly).

So you can use this dreamsign to your advantage by performing a reality check every time something like this happens. Refer to this Quick Start Tutorial for some basic info about reality checks (or critical state testing). There's also another reality check tutorial available, if you need it.

Basically, reality checks will help you realize that you're dreaming, therefore helping you gain lucidity. The trick is to actually do RCs in your dreams. Most people need to do get used to doing RCs while awake to be able to remember to do them while dreaming.

      thanks

Thank you. After hearing you mention the dream sign of "Not being able to dial the right number" I vaugely remember that. But anyways I will practice RC alot more now. Thanks again.
