Thread: 2 Hours of images all for nothing.

I tried WILD for the first time last night. After about a half hour of counting, I heard a couple voices and it became difficult to keep counting, like i was being sedated. But I kept up with the counting. Then my eyes went crazy! I was in REM but still awake. I pretty much just saw darkness, a few spots that looked like stars. My heart raced and I just got too excited. I kept the sporatic REM movements of my eyes going for about 20 seconds though. I opened my eyes and felt pretty amazed. No more luck after that.

I thought in order to WILD correctly, you need to remain passive and calm as not to get to excited, or too unconcious<- as in not activly falling into a dream

Damn that sucks.

My advice is: Don't waste precious sleep if you have to get up at 6. Try it in the weekends, and if nothing happens the first 30 minutes, giving up might be a good idea

I did RC's every half hour but again as I said. I wanted to stop it, but it wouldn't. Even when I got up to go to the bathroom. I just wanted to go to sleep regularly but I couldn't. Somehow, I wasn't tired during the day. Just bored because all of my classes suck.

I agree. Try when you not under the stress of gettiing up.

I think MILD is much easier than WILD. Within 4 days of learning technique I had an LD.

I don't personally need an alarm clock. If I want to try a WBTB, I'll just wake up automatically after 6 hours of sleep. [/b]

That's excellent. Now instead of telling yourself to wake up, set your intent to recognize you are dreaming when you are dreaming.

I've had 2 LDs now, where there was no trigger, I just managed to carry through the intent.

Well, I am doing good with the recognizing that I'm dreaming when I AM dreaming. As I stated above, I just can't get from seeing the little image to being IN the image and when I see my room with my eyes closed, I'm not entirely sure how long I should be waiting until I can be sure I am dreaming. I think there might have been a couple times where I jumped the gun last night and didn't let the image of my room fully form. And now I just got an idea. Instead of trying to move my hands to pinch my nose or move my head to check clocks twice and risk having the movement ruin my state of mind (if I'm not dreaming), maybe I'll try to turn the lights on slowly with my mind. If that works, that would be a good sign.

i've experimented with WILD dozens of times. most times i get 'double limbs', and a fifth of the time i get images.

everytime i try to 'pull images toward me or pull myself toward them" it f**ked up my attempt. the few times i've been successful, i didn't make any effort at all. i just waited, waited, and then waited some more. eventually i would find myself in a fully formed scene.

trying to rush things, or use 'force' of any kind is not compatible with WILD, in my opinion.

passive awareness. those two words sum up all that is neccessary to WILD. hone in on what they mean, and i am confident you will have success.
