Yay! Last night, I finally managed to achieve something which slightly resembled lucidity. As in my usual style, I'll post what went on, and then ask the clever people some questions.
Okay, so. I have tried to have Lucid Dreams (almost always by WILD) for quite a few months now. However, for some reason, I never did it after 6 hours of sleep - I always tried to do it as soon as I went to bed. However, last night, I decided to stop being stupid and do the thing properly, so, I set the clock, and fell asleep.
After six hours, I woke up. I got out of bed, went downstairs, and had some milk, which is my usual device for intensifying HI. I didn't eat anything. Then I went back upstairs, and got into bed. Over the next half hour, I just lay there thinking about Lucid Dreaming - What I would do, and just generally getting myself excited about the whole thing and setting my intent upon getting lucid.
Then I tried to WILD. Now, normally, when I try to WILD, I can see patterns instantly. In this instance, however, it was not the case. I couldn't see anything, which was quite odd, really; I expected the reverse, if anything. After a while, I also began to notice that my body wasn't feeling numb at all. This was pretty frustrating, too. Eventually, I simply fell asleep.
However... That, of course, is only half of the story.
The next piece of 'conciousness', if you like, was a dream. There was someone from my school in my house, upstairs. As soon as I saw him, I screamed, and fell on the floor. I don't really know why, so I got up (rather embarassed, I imagine) and pretended it was a joke. Slowly, I began to realise that there were more and more people from my school in my house, mainly teachers. I think it was a party of some sort. I looked out of the window, and then...
Breakthrough. The little light turned on.
It was ludicrous that all of these people were in my house, I thought to myself. I must be dreaming!
I tried to breathe through my nose whilst holding it; it worked a little. I looked at my hands; the fingers were all spaced out. I had done it!
After that, I'm afraid to admit that the dream was rather feeble. It was hardly vivid at all, and all I did was go downstairs, try to counjure some chocolate, failed, and lost conciousness.
But that's irrelevant, really; It was still a major achievement in the Lucid Dreaming department.
So: Now, it's just a couple of questions really, which I suppose is the most important part of the topic for me.
1. Why didn't WILD work?
2. How can I increase vividness?
Many thanks,
Xei.
