I've attempted WILD three times so far, unsuccesfully. The first time I didn't have the resolve to go through with it, the second time I became too awake, and it took me 2.5 hours to get back to sleep, but the third time went well, untill I stumbled upon two problems.

I've noticed that I don't have to wait for sleep paralysis to set in, I can force it. I can make my right arm go into SP right now, for example. I don't know if this is a common ability, but I use it in all my WILDs. The problem is, as soon as I go into SP, and my muscles start to twitch, I feel like I am being choked. I know this is just because of the paralysis, and nothing to worry about, but it brings with it a annoying, nigh-irresistable urge: The urge to take a deep breath, which I have to break SP for. I have to take my mind of the breathing process, then the urge disappears, but the problem is there not a whole lot I can focus on except for my breathing! So taking my mind off it is extremely hard, and I have not yet found a breathing rythym that allows me to keep SP.

In relation to not having a lot to focus on, how long does it generally take to begin to see hypnagogic imagery after the muscle twitches? Because I don't see a darn thing. If I force SP, I get the sensation of the black that I see from my closed eyes sort of washing over me, as if it is extending beyond my normal vision because I am going into it. But then it's still black. I must admit I have never been able to hold that state for more than about 15 seconds because of the breathing problem, but if I just saw some imagery, I could take my mind off my breathing! So If all I need to do is wait, I'm in a bit of a vicious circle here, because I have to take my mind off my breathing to see imagery, but I have to see imagery to take my mind off my breathing.. Does anyone recognize these problems, or can anyone think of a solution? I really need some help here, I think.
