Too many techniques available

I am totally a beginner trying to Lucid Dream for last 3-4 days. I have once astral projected and got scared too much(Last year). I've read about all the techniques(From this book and read some pages of Exploring Lucid Dream), I am trying to apply WILD and MILD. There are many more techniques, which technique should I go with? I am a regular sleeper, I sleep at 12 and wake up at 6 AM. I can sleep not more than 7 hours a day.
