Thread: Is this common?

Every hour for the past2 weeks iv had an alarm which reminds me to RC..... The best RC and the one that comes up all the time in my dreams is checking my finger tattoos as in my dreams i dont have finger tatts.
Well i had a dream today which i shoukd of been lucid but when i checked my finger tattos they were there... I checked em again and still they was there.... Maybe constant repetition of checking them in waking life has caused me to expect them to be there.... I thought RC works when in a dream? Maybe i need to do different RC maybe have more variation?

I dont know man. I used to do the nose plug and it worked for a few weeks. Eventually it became less and less effective. I have found that the palm push works best. The tatoo thing doeant seem a great reality check tbh. Just because it isnt there in some dreams doesn't mean it wont be there in all dreams. I am a noob though so take what you will.

Cheers man and yeah true i think because of the amount of awareness exercises and stuff im doing is making my dreams more realistic which then makes it harder for me to get lucid and ofcourse caus3s my finger tatts to be there. Cheers for the reply =)

Why don't you just try counting your fingers? That always works for me never failed once.

Thanx phoebus ill try it out.... Usualy its finger tatts testing gravity and thumb thru palm... Iv never actually noticed how many fingers i have but i one lucid dream i stretched my finger so it was a long as my arm... Was cool to see lol thanx again

Like a lot of RC stuff it can be hit or miss. No matter how good a reality check is, some time is will fail. Nothing is 100%. If it is just one time, I wouldn't worry about it to much. Might of been a one time thing. If it starts happening way more often, then you can switch to something else or mix it up a little bit.
