alright, i had some horrific insomnia last night and was unable to sleep, then at 6:30 AM, i conk out and wake up having had no dreams whatsoever at 11:00 AM. My question is, what kind of effect will it have on this night's dreams, and what should my wbtb time be? |

thanks, but that doesn't answer my question. how exactly should i change my wbtb time? |

Only you can find the ideal WBTB time. Generally it will be after several hours of sleep. A standard recommendation is after sleeping 5-7 hours. But you must experiment with WBTB start time and duration, taking in to consideration your overall levels of rest, whether you're experiencing stress/anxiety or not, etc. LD practice is a looong path of self-discovery and experimentation. |

Take 100mg of 5-HTP at bedtime, this will suppress REM sleep for about 3-4 hours (but varies) then the rest of your night will be mostly REM sleep which means you have control over WBTB time as well as long vivid dreams. |

I felt terrible after 5-HTP, I tried it a few times. Melatonin is much more agreeable to me, but I don't like taking anything on a regular basis. 3mg of melatonin at bedtime will generally give me pretty wild dreams in the late morning, but it's not a guarantee. |
