Brighter or darker room is better for lucidity and recall ?

So i got a little confused. Some time ago a read that brighter room is better for acheiving lucidity becouse it promotes production of some hormone. I can't find it now, what hormone exactly, but now anywhere i look i only find people saying that darker is overall better. So now i'm confused, leave the blinds open or closed. Any tips ?

Whichever option you're more comfortable with is better.

I've had LDs in both. I don't think it matters that much.
