Need URGENT help !
Hello guys :)
I need help. Every time I tried to lucid dream, I failed or got kinda trolled.
I am attempting to W.I.L.D every night after 4-5 hours of sleep. I tried different methods to lucid dream, DIDL/MILD and WILD, but none of them give me the result I wanted to. But I have some experiences with LD sort of. I think I am the most unlucky guy ever.
So, I was trying to WILD one night, was very close, even my breathing was very very slow, fell asleep
Then I have some random LD situations. I was in my room, tryed to switch the light on, I was about to realize that I am dreaming, bum ringing phone woke me up. Another time, totally random, realized I am dreaming, everything was soo vivid at once, phone ring woke me up.
But the strangest exprience, you know, I set my alarm clock 4-5 hours after I went sleep to try wild. But this one was really strange. I was in a dream, realized I am dreaming bum phone woke me up, I remember I slowly opened my eyes ( was pissed a lot coz I failed ) but at the same time I turned off my phone but I dont remember that and fell asleep insantly. Next dream started but I though I am already lucid ( like I did not even wake up ) and I was like „Hmm, I am dreaming, but this is kinda weird“ I tried to stabilize the dream, but all of this, was only part of a non lucid dream so I had no control over my dream at all. I remember I even tryed to spin to stabilize the dream.
So, I only get to a part in my whole experience, where everything became sooo clear soo vivid, but that is all. I got woken up by phone.
I am trying for more than half of the year without any success. What could you recommend to me guys ? I read a lot on all over the internet and saw dozens of videos via youtube.

WILD is not an ideal first method for everyone, and I would actually count it as a relatively advanced way to become lucid, since you need to find the right balance between awareness and falling asleep;
some people will have success with it right away, but other people may need to start with something else.
If it doesn't work for you right now then you should try other ways to become lucid.
Personally I think that it is best to simply start with practicing dream recall (in other words, learning to remember your dreams in as much detail as possible), and then firmly tell yourself during the days that you are going to recognize the you are dreaming in your next dream (this is called "Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams", or MILD).
All it means is that you mentally prepare yourself so that you are ready to recognize our next dream as a dream (one common mantra is "next time I am dreaming, I will recognize that I am dreaming")
These two steps - dream recall and prospective memory - are actually in many ways fundamental for everything else, so I think they are very good starting points.
People who become natural lucid dreamers tend to be very interested in dreams from a young age, and decide that they are going to spend more time in them.
I would recommend you to have that mindset - instead of focusing too much on specific techniques, try to come up with your own ways to bring your self-awareness with you into the dreams.
For example, try to figure out if you dreams often have a specific theme, like if you often dream about certain persons or certain scenarios.
If you notice a common pattern, then you can prepare yourself better - for example, if you often dream about your family members then you can start double-checking your state whenever you meet them in waking life, and really ask yourself if you could be dreaming at that point.
Also, some people, like myself, can often experience False Awakenings, which are dreams about waking up.
If you often experience those kinds of dreams before waking up for real, then you can make it a habit to always, without exceptions, check your surroundings every time you feel like you have woken up - if you are lucky, it might turn out to be a dream.

What about turning off your phone?
I suggest you to continue and to try different things, learning from your mistakes, changes things, but stay confident it will pay.
I am not one of those who will tell you not to start with WILD as if you feel it better than with DILDs, it's ok for me.
WILD may be a long way, it is a skill to reach out, but it worth it, cause when you master it, you don't have to count on random techniques (like DILD are for me), but virtually be able to have a LD whenever you want.

You've gotten really good advice from two different sides of the field, so to speak. Yuusha's point about MILD and prospective memory is excellent; DILD is where many of us start out, and where many of us stay. While it can seem unreliable, and awareness tends to be a bit lower or more at risk to be locked into dream logic, the truth for me is that the overwhelming percentage of my LDs are DILDs. MILD is an excellent way to get there.
Kaan also has an excellent point--there are many different techniques available, and you should be willing to experiment. I would start with something that is proven to work (like basic daily awareness and reality checks) and then branch out into other areas. I have not finished The Phase yet, but the techniques have worked for me, and I plan to pursue them further. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
And I would suggest turning off the phone before sleep.

Just to clarify my last post - I was not trying to tell the topic creator to "avoid" WILD or anything (:cheeky:), it can work great for some people, but if you feel that you are having problems with it, since it does require a certain balance between staying aware and falling asleep (which not everyone finds easy to master at first) then it is probably better to try something different.
And in my opinion, the single most important thing to focus on is excellent dream recall, because obviously you will need to be able to remember as many dreams as possible to have the best chances to remember any lucid dreams that you have.
And indeed, the simple decision to remember your dreams as much as possible can make you so focused on dreaming that it will usually improve your chances to become lucid as well.
So this is definitely a very important first step towards having frequent lucid dreams.

Guys thank you for your posts. I will try, and after I gain some kind of a success, I will let you know. I really appriciate that you have found a time to answer my question. I am trying to remember as much dreams, as possible. I think, I can remember dreams better, than I used to. Atm I am trying to wild/mild. I have a question. If I am trying WILD, I lay to bad ( when I am really tired ) then, ( if I am successful and not fall asleep ) I stay awake like 30 min and I feel my body going numb but if I wanted to, I could move it and everything. But the question is, when I have a very uncomfortable feeling, should I just roll over ? Because I found out, that this might be a signal, when body is searching if mind want to go sleep. But I am trying to resist but I failed a lot on this beacause the vibrations are stronger and stronger and even tho I resist, they warm off and come back after 10 sec so I give up eventually. When I roll over from my back, I just cant stay awake I fall imediatelly. And, what is this Raduga's technique ? I cant find any info about it.

The discomfort may come after a while, especially after spending so long on the threshold. I would suggest fully relaxing your body (via stretching or whatever) before making a longer attempt. If it's really bad, best to just adjust gently and keep going. And make sure you are doing this on a WBTB. As for the vibrations, generally means you are close to a transition. Someone else can probably provide better advice on how to transition from that state.
