I would like to help you but you use some terminology I am not very familiar with. I think that with Lucid Dream Checks, you mean the same as Reality Checks, a term that is commonly used on these forums. This is questioning you're state during the day by trying to find proof that you are dreaming (such as being able to breathe through a pinched nose, or being able to levitate). Also, I think that what you call Dream Triggers are what are often called Dream Signs here, which are particular recurring themes, objects or actions in your dreams (often quite personal).
I can, in general, give the advice of keeping a dream journal to increase recall drastically. Be aware though that recall seems to fluctuate regardless of how good it is. You might just have a dry spell in recall. Recall is at the basis of lucid dreaming (especially for DILD and MILD) so I think that increasing your recall will get you to lucid dream again, if you keep doing everything you did when you had frequent lucid dreams.
