TILD (Totem Induced Lucid Dream) Works for me. Does it for you ?

For those who don't know, TILD is basically a reality check based technique that falls under DILD method category. You choose a totem (a unique trinket or something small ) and make a habit of looking at it every now and then. Then you look at it in a dream and see if that leads to lucidity.

My totem is a domino brick that has 10 dots on one side and I've written "DREAM" on the other side. I've been experimenting with this for the last few days and so far, the result was quite good. I had about 3 Lucid Dreams, with 2 of them lasting longer while the first one was just a matter of seconds.

Did you try it? What's your success rate ?

I'm practicing quite the same thing, not looking at something, but hearing something. 15 times a day there's a little harp sound played from my telephone, and everytime I hear it, I do a RC. At night this sound plays too, so the purpose of this is that I will hear this in my dream, wich makes me remember to do a RC.
So far it hasn't worked yet...

@Erik112 I'm interested in this technique but could you explain how the totem made you lucid and what was different with it from it's reality counterpart?
If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...

Totem technique seems related to Inception or is it just me :

The TILD Technique from inception would be mix of dream control, habits and confidence.
I guess we could just call it simply a little modified Reality Check.

Let's say we have a medium sized ball and we want to make totem out of it
It's a little heavy so it will fall quite fast on ground
If you want to make totem prove that your dreaming then answer is simply
You want to manipulate dream world to make totem behave the way it would never in the real world.

In reality heavy ball wouldn't fly or be weightlessy still in the air.
      So here's the example plan:
      - You decided to do totem reality check every thirty minutes during a day.
      - The time has come for you to perform it
      - Your taking out of your pocket medium sized ball
      - You want to throw it up in the air
      - Before doing so you will fill yourself with confidence that this ball is filled with helium and when you throw it then it will fly and keep being up in air because it's weightless balloon or something.
      - If you have collected your whole confidence and your mind has no even tiny doubt (or atleast more confidence than doubts) then throw the ball up
      - After you threw it, ask yourself a question. If the ball flies then it means that i'm dreaming and if it's on ground then i'm in reality. So am i dreaming now?
      - Answer the question
      - If ball is flying then it means that your dreaming
      - If it fell on ground then your in real world or just unfortunely totem didn't work, either because dream control screwed up randomly or you didn't put enough confidence that ball will fly and therefore you doubted that it will fly and it fell on ground due to beliefs of yours.

That's the example use of totem if we do it the inception style
Remember about being mindful, focused and confident while doing them

You don't want this totem reality check to become mindless habit that you will do without even thinking :
