Variation of the FILD??

hey guys, i've recently read about a technique called the cellphone technique. It basically has the same set up and everything as FILD, but with one diffrence. instead of moving your fingers, you imagine yourself having a cellphone lying in your hand. When fallen asleep and transferring to the dream state, you actually will feel a cellphone in your hand and this means you're dreaming. This is atleast the technique behind it, i have never done this, but i was wondering if someone has experience with this technique and if it works?? thank you very much

I've tried it but usually for me I hear weird sounds or feel strange already before I start feeling the cellphone or something else in my hand. So I view it as a reality check, if what I imagine feels real and vivid, I am dreaming.

I tried a variation of this. I was imagining a song until I actually started hearing it.
