      I think the best time do try and do WILD is to do WBTB. I've had 2 unintentional WILD and I remember getting up in the middle of the night and falling back to sleep.

      Since WILD really works better with WBTB, and definitely requires specific timing (namely, starting after 5+ hrs of sleep, and then having another hr lr 2 to dream), why not stick with DILD?

      Yes DILD, or see the course that the man above me provides(he's the best at WILD) and do WILD during afternoon naps.
      Good luck!

      The only thing you are doing during WILD is that you remain conscious of yourself while you are falling asleep;
      you shouldn't make it any more complicated than that.
      Some people like to listen to their breathing or paying passive attention to anything they see under their eyelids, but these are just different ways to remain self-aware.
      For this reason you shouldn't make it too much of a big deal, like thinking of endless ways to do WILD "correctly", because this will just add stress and make it harder to relax.

      Also, the reason why this technique preferably should be practiced during naps or in the morning is because it is obviously much, much easier to remain conscious if you get back into REM sleep as fast as possible.
      It *is* possible to succeed with WILD when you go to sleep in the night, but it is so hard that it's not really worth it, since you have to go through deep NREM stages for over an hour before your first (and short) dream occurs.
      But you could always try it, since it certainly will make you more focused on lucid dreaming and might trigger a DILD ("Dream-Induced Lucid Dream", a dream where you spontaneously become lucid).

      To me, it seems like not many people are able to WILD consistently. Maybe try other paths to lucidity? I try to WILD every time I sleep, whether nap or whatever, but I rarely can do it.

      WBTB or naps. Really, it is hard to WILD without them, very hard
